Il centro di ricerca sull’industria dell’occupazione israeliana Who Profits ha pubblicato un report sui legami tra diverse aziende multinazionali ed israeliane e il sistema penitenziario israeliano. 
Nel dicembre del 2013, l’Israel Prison Service ha risposto ad una richiesta di libertà di informazione fatta da Who Profits su 22 multinazionali che forniscono servizi alle prigioni israeliane. La richiesta di Who Profits era stata inoltrata tre mesi prima.
Queste aziende forniscono principalmente servizi e dispositivi di sicurezza a carceri dove sono detenuti prigionieri palestinesi in Israele e nella West Bank occupata.
Queste strutture carcerarie imprigionano i prigionieri politici palestinesi in violazione della legge internazionale, e dietro le loro mura la tortura e le violazioni dei diritti umani sono all’ordine del giorno.
Secondo gli ultimi dati mensili pubblicati da Addameer (dicembre 2013), nelle carceri israeliane si trovano 5033 prigionieri politici palestinesi, di cui 173 sono minorenni e 145 detenuti amministrativi.
